With such a dispersed workforce across the state, the industry needs to consider e-learning as a viable option as part of a blended learning approach that also includes onsite and face to face training.

Funding through the Water Skills Partnership has allowed qldwater to develop four online training courses specifically aimed at the Queensland water industry.


Aqua Card is an online training course for people working on or near water infrastructure. (Please note this link will take you to our new training website at https://watertraining.com.au/)


Brown Card is an online training course for people working in, on or near Sewerage or Recycled Water assets. (Please note this link will take you to our new training website at https://watertraining.com.au/)



The Introduction to the Water Industry provides water industry workers with relevant information about the Queensland urban water industry in general.


The Introduction to Risk Management in the urban water industry is available for qldwater members only - please contact skills@qldwater.com.au if you are not a member and would like access to the course.



The Legislative Training e-learning package provides an overview of the legislation and guidelines that are relevant to the Queensland urban water industry.



These courses provide a broad overview of the urban water industry, and will guide users in the right direction to learn more.

qldwater  also developed three online learning objects linked to units from the National Water Training package with funding from the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, including:
