This non accredited training course has been developed to support operators to meet the requirements of the Queensland regulation and code of practice. This course is not intended to meet all the requirements of the National Water Training Package or Units of Competency.
Fluoridation in Queensland is regulated under the Water Fluoridation Act 2008 and Water Fluoridation Regulation 2020. The design and operation of infrastructure for adding fluoride to drinking water supplies is described in the Queensland Water Fluoridation Code of Practice. The Water Fluoridation Regulation 2020 and the Code of Practice include a wide range of safeguards to ensure that fluoride is safely added to water supplies.
The Code of Practice says that operators of fluoridation facilities must be appropriately qualified. This means they must have the necessary training, knowledge and experience to competently operate a fluoridation facility.
This webinar is part of the qldwater Urban Water Micro Credential Program 2023 Project and acts as an introduction to a series of Micro-Credential courses which will be delivered between June and September 2024.
