The Water Connections Tour allows participants to gain insights into the issues and challenges of providing essential urban water services and delivering key water projects in regional and remote Queensland communities (including, the servicing of island communities). The tour will run from 11 to 14 May 2026.

The 2026 Water Connections Tour will focus on the northern region of Queensland from Mackay to Townsville with the following site tours lined up:
Day 1: Nebo Road Water Treatment Plant, Mackay South Water Recycling Facility and the decommissioned Bloomsbury Plant.
Day 2: Bowen Water Treatment Plant, Ayr Brandon Macroalgae Bioremediation Facility and South Ayr bores.
Day 3: Magnetic Island Water Recycling Facility and Horseshoe Bay Water Recycling Facility.
Day 4: Advanced Recycled Water Plant at Cleveland Bay.
