There are a handful of spots left for the micro credential course on SCADA, to be delivered by Murray Thompson on 4 and 5 September 2024. The introductory course will be delivered over two days at the qldwater offices in Eagle Farm with refreshments provided each day.
We hosted a webinar during Micro Credential May, where Murray provided an outline of what learners could expect. For those that missed the webinar, the recording can be accessed here.

Water Industry Worker L&D Project Coordinator Lee-Anne Willis is arranging a cohort of learners to complete the MSMWHS216 Operate breathing apparatus and NWPTRT007 Monitor and operate liquefied chlorine gas disinfection processes to be delivered in Mossman.

The course is aimed at all operators and workers handling liquefied chlorine gas containers and will include protocols for safely disconnecting and connecting liquefied chlorine gas containers, correct handling techniques to minimize risks and ensure that every task is performed with the utmost care and attention to detail. Learners will gain confidence and competence in the use of breathing apparatus, a vital tool in protecting yourself from exposure to chlorine gas. You will learn how to correctly don, operate, and maintain this equipment, ensuring you are always ready to respond effectively.
The OWSR is running a Drinking Water Regulation Workshop on Thursday 29th August in Mount Isa. The workshop will be an ‘in person’ only workshop. If you are interested in attending and have not yet registered, please register by COB Thursday 22nd August.
The workshop includes sessions presented by Water Supply Regulation on a range of topics including drinking water incidents and actions, KPI reporting and requirements relating to the Australian Drinking Water guideline, as well as guest presenters who will share insights into emerging issues and lessons learned.

This consultation is being run by the Commonwealth and provides an opportunity for stakeholders and the broader community to provide views on draft principles for a new agreement.
