Best of the Best Taste Test Final & WIOA on the Gold Coast

The Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) will stage its 37th Annual Queensland Water Industry Operations Workshop and Exhibition at Parklands on the Gold Coast on 6 & 7 June 2012.
Over 100 companies will exhibit the latest in equipment, services and technologies available to the water, wastewater and liquid conveyancing industries in a comprehensive Trade Exhibition. Entry to the exhibition is FREE and the exhibition is open to the general public between 10.00am - 3pm on Wednesday 6th June and Thursday 7th June.
Delegate registrations are still being accepted for the technical presentations where operators will share the latest ideas, issues and solutions across a wide range of topics. Further details can be obtained from Craig Mathisen on 03 5821 6744 or from the website www.wioa.org.au.
qldwater is hosting the event which includes the grand final of the Orica Australia Best of the Best Queensland Water Taste Test at lunch on 7 June along with Award presentations including our Young Operator of the Year and Operator of the Year (Civil) Awards.
With Torres Strait Island Regional Council securing the last finalist spot in Cairns last Friday, the 31 state-wide taste test entrants have been narrowed down to six. Competition is tight and the four judges will have their olfactory senses tested.
The finalists are:
North Burnett Regional Council – Eidsvold (South-East Queensland winner)
Toowoomba Regional Council – Mt Kynoch (South-West Queensland winner)
Rockhampton Regional Council – Glenmore (Central Queensland winner)
Barcaldine Regional Council – Barcaldine (Western Queensland winner)
Burdekin Shire Council – Ayr (North Queensland winner)
Torres Strait Island Regional Council – Saibai (Far North Queensland winner)
