1. Essentials Webinar – Thursday Next Week

We are kicking off the New Year with our first essentials webinar being held next week on 28 January at 10am.

This year, we have changed the process slightly with pre-registration to the webinar required through our pay portal… but never fear, registration remains free to the staff of all qldwater members and affiliates.

We have two presentations lined up, each with an assets focus:

Nadine Story and Noel Ralph (Urban Utilities)

A seven-year major sewer upgrade project

This presentation provides a brief background to the difficulties faced in renovating a major sewer that is a critical piece of Brisbane’s infrastructure. The presentation will cover the substantial planning and preparation works that are required before relining can even start.

Adjunct Professor Joseph Mathew (Asset Institute, Australia)

Innovation in asset management

The broad field of Engineering Asset Management (EAM) has been evolving over the last 20 years having begun its roots in reliability and maintenance management and technology in the 1990’s. However, EAM comprises whole of life cycle management; from concept to reality through design, construction, operation, maintenance and retirement or renewal as the case may be. This presentation will provide an overview of the field of EAM today, elaborate on emergent trends and provide examples of innovations that have occurred in the field relevant to the water industry.

qldwater is investigating opportunities to partner with the Institute.

We will be delivering Essentials Webinars via MS Teams which has meant a slight change to the registration process. You will receive confirmation at the time of your registration, with details for accessing the webinar emailed to you the day prior to the event. The webinars are free for employees of qldwater members and affiliates.

Non-members can participate in the Essentials webinars for a cost of $50 plus GST, payable on registration.

Recordings of all previous webinars are available for members to access via the qldwater website.

Please register before 5pm 27 January to ensure you can connect on time. Register here.
