The Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater) provides a voice to the urban water industry through advice and advocacy on behalf of its members. As the Skills Manager, you will help build the skills and careers of water industry workers through workforce planning and capacity building programs. It is an exciting and challenging role that will suit someone with a HR / Training / Workforce Planning background. Water industry experience would be ideal.
Hours and flexible working arrangements can be negotiated, but some face-to-face meetings in Brisbane will be required.

Mackay Regional Council now has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Principal Environmental Officer to join their Water Treatment team.
The Principal Environmental Officer will take a lead role in the environmental management of a large Water and Waste utility including liaising with the regulator on licencing, regulation and compliance issues, delivery of statutory reports, managing environmental monitoring databases, and developing guidelines and practices for improved environmental compliance.

RADHAZ (Radiation Hazard Awareness) is a safety training program developed by TAFE Queensland and is designed for workers who perform tasks around radiation emitting equipment such as broadcast towers, microwave links, mobile phone towers, transmitters and high voltage appliances. During the program, students gain an understanding of the potential health effects of exposure to radiation emitting hazards, the relevant limits and standards, awareness of safe working procedures at radiation emitting transmitter sites, ability to identify potential radiation emitting hazards on site, radiation emitting safety documentation, and the correct use of PPE. This non-accredited program is delivered in a two hour online workshop (a MS Teams link will be provided). Outcome is Certificate of Participation.
Online Courses available on Wednesday 26th October with two sessions available 10:00am and 1:00pm. Open to existing workers and existing students.
