EHP Review and RIS on Waste-Related ERAs

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection currently oversees 12 Waste-related ERAs under the environmental protection Regulation. The Department is reviewing this framework and a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) of proposed changes is open for public submissions until 25 August 2017.
The RIS proposes 5 streamlined waste-related ERA categories and a tiered classification scheme for regulated (i.e. hazardous) waste. Submissions can be made at www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au (search on the website for ‘Waste Reform Regulatory Impact Statement’) or through a joint industry response by contact rfearon@qldwater.com.au.
